    Two types of legends are available for 44 Series switching equipment. The first style uses a legend holder that is positioned between the switch body and the front panel. Legend plates slide into and are secured by this holder. Legends are large and can be readily removed and replaced. Switches Plus provides black legend plates with a selection of 23 different engraved legends. The legend holder fits all 44 Series devices.

    A diffuser/legend insert is available for use with illuminated pushbuttons and Type A pilot lights only. A correctly- sized transluscent diffuser is printed in black with the standard legends listed in the second table. The diffuser is easily inserted under the flat-type lenses. It also serves to spread light evenly over the legend surface when used with illuminated devices.

      Both types of legends can be ordered by using the appropriate catalog number and adding the number that corresponds to the legend desired.

      In addition, users can apply rub-down or transfer lettering to blank legend plates or blank diffuser/legend inserts to prepare custom legends.
